Having settled in Canterbury, Kathy has showcased her photographic prints and pottery in two solo exhibitions, sharing her passion with the North Canterbury community. Last year, she embarked on an artist residency at Oxford Gallery for a few weeks.
Kathy sells pottery at the Ohoka markets on Friday mornings. You can catch her at Studio 7 in Waikuku on Thursdays and Saturdays between 11 am and 2 pm, where she shares a pottery studio/store. Kathy also enjoys teaching beginner classes for Kudo clay. Kathy looks forward to combining her two passions of photography and pottery in an upcoming workshop for Canterbury Potters.
We hope to see some of you at the workshops!
Saturday 23 March 9 am -12
In the workshop we will revise the skills of “bellying out” and “collaring in” to create simple vases. Then the two skills will be combined to create graceful vases.
This workshop is for people that have confidently mastered making a cylinder and want to experience the thrill of altering its shape. It is an ideal follow on for those who attended the “Milk Jug” workshop.
The prerequisite is you need to confidently throw a cylinder of 15cm in height.
